Late Night Muses

Late nights have always been the ideal time for creation and the ideas seem to be flowing like a mighty river! The candle represents late nights, while the dream-catcher represents tapping into the subconscious.

HEAVY DREAMER

Gandalf

Tolkien created this character based on the figures of ancient Europe known as the shamans and druids. Gandalf was a powerful being, but he had limitations in his current form. One thing is sure, he was deeply connected to the earth and he had a lot of bravery burning in his heart.

The Wandering Wizard

Inspired by Gandalf from Lord of the Rings

The writing on the bottom is Wandering Wizard, but written in ancient Germanic runes. JRR Tolkien was an expert linguist and was fascinated by Runes & European mythology in general.

Ordinary Magick

If you’re seeking magic in the world, there is no need to seek obscure books and consult spiritualists…just go outside and witness the natural cycles of the Earth.

Quothe the Raven

Many people enter the dream world during their sleep, but how many us encounter that world during the waking hours?

Praktikal Magik

This celebrates the Autumn and Winter seasons. On the surface, the falling of the leaves is a death…but the potential for future life, represented by the symbol beneath the tree, still exists. That is the magic of nature during the winter season.

A Window of Hope

There is this world and the Otherworld where spirit, ancestors, gods and the like existed; and this world connected to ours wherein we can catch small glimpses. It can also represent both hope and despair at once, which is why I wanted to originally call it "Hope and Despair". I really went deep into my own style this time. I feel like this is something that has been on my mind for a while, but I couldn't put it together visually until now.

Winter Solstice

This one has the potential to represent or mean many things to different people.

On one level it’s a continuation of a series of similar images, representing the winter version. The dark, desolate background is contrasted by the vivid and lively foreground bursting through the image.

On another level it’s a celebration of Winter solstice celebration, using an evergreen tree to represent the promise of spring during the dark, cold winter months.

On yet another level, it’s actually a tribute to all the firefighters & other first-responders who battled the 2020 wildfires on the west coast. The dark & desolate area is marked with red, brown, & gray designs, the new growth and arriving winter is marked with sky blue, white and metallic colors.
